Jesse's Paddle 2020 Goes Virtual

July 18, 2020 would normally have been the 12th annual Jesse’s Paddle, our yearly on-the-Pocomoke event to raise funds for the Jesse Klump Memorial Scholarship and the Jesse Klump Suicide Awareness & Prevention Program.

2020 is not a normal year. But that doesn’t stop the JKMF from celebrating the need for our scholarship and the success of over a decade of dedication to ending the threat of suicide. Nor does it diminish our need for funding, or of our appreciation for the donations our supporters so generously send us.

Neither does it limit us to indoor activities. “Virtual” doesn’t mean just sitting on the sofa watching TV.  We’re suggesting that our friends do something fun outdoors, send us a photo of your day and tell us how being out in the fresh air made you feel.  We’ll share them on our Facebook page - use the hashtag #JessesVirtualPaddle2020. You can also send the message and the photos to our e-mail: weremember@jessespaddle.org

How To Paddle With Us

There are many ways in which you can support our work with a donation and we've made it easy by sharing our links with you.

  • You can send a check to “Jesse’s Paddle” at PO Box 1786, Berlin MD 21811
  • You can use our Donate Tab at the top of any web page
  • You can donate on our Facebook page
  • You can also use the Jesse’s Paddle 2020 Crowdfunding site
  • At the crowdfunding site you can donate in general, on behalf of a friend who has created his or her own crowdfunding page, or better yet, create your own page. Please share it with all your social media friends and ask them to support a cause that is important to you.

    Kayak Raffle

We begin an all-new Jesse's Paddle as we always do, by offering the perfect recreational kayak or canoe in our limited raffle. But this year it's all online. What a great boat we have. A 12' Old Town Vapor kayak, bright red, as stable as a recreational kayak can be, indestructible, roomy, comfortable and easy to paddle. Tickets are $20 each and we only sell 125 of them. Don't wait, buy your tickets today!

    Silent Auction

Finally, just because we aren’t together along the shores of the Pocomoke River doesn’t mean we can’t have a silent auction.  Our special 2020 Jesse’s Paddle Silent Auction is just moving online.  To see the great items that have been donated for the auction, visit Charity Auctions Today. Bidding opens June 18th and continues through July 18th.

However you choose to spend our day, we hope you’ll think of us and, like us, start looking forward to a bigger and better Jesse’s Paddle in 2021.  Please stay safe, everyone.
